Interesting. I have never tasted the '89 Latour Grand Vin, but I do have 1 bottle in my cellar that I purchased 2-3 years after release for about $100. Anyone had the 1996 D'Issan? I haven't, but just acquired a couple via auction. John Gilman gives 94 pts, but surprisingly notes it's tannic backbone and an incredibly long drinking window: , and all this wine seems likely to need is a fair bit more bottle age to allow the tannic backbone to start t...

I concur on the quality of the 2000 du Tertre. I have just a couple bottles left, and have tried to back-fill via auction, but Winebid currently wants $88 for this including premium & tax. Geez.

I for one have always preferred Pouilly Fume to Sancerre. Most of the Sancerre's I've had seem a bit "spritzy" to me -- not Fume'.

I purchased six bottles of 2000 Lanessan on release for $12/btl. All were very good and quite classic, but not profound -- just a good bordeaux at an excellent price. I drank them all up from 2012 - 2016, and agree that they won't get better and need drinking.

I've had the 1985 Leoville Barton at least 6 times in the last 12 years and it has been outstanding, and much better IMO than Poyferre. With the exception of '85 though I'd agree that Poyferre in the 80s -1990 is probably better. Don't miss that '85LB.
