Cool, this is and still is my go to great style Bordeaux that is affordable. With this latest rant I have to seek some out and taste for myself.

Re: 2003 Rauzan Segla
First hour seemed sweet with a short finish which seemed rather thin and dilute. Now however entering hour 3, it has bloomed into a firm wine, with some interesting aromas of berries and earth. Firm tannins and fruit at the end make the finish moderate, decent nose

I saw this at a wine shop along the Hudson decided to pick one up so that I might be able to add to my son's wine stash since 2008 was his birth year.
Decent fruit on the nose and the finish is short to moderate. Some tannins on the palate, lets see what happens over some time.

Probably, it does lack a certain structure but I am not sure that it is flawed. Margaux was weak as a whole in 1999 dont you agree?

Popped and poured.
Decent aromas on the nose, some stewy, herbaceous odors. Some tannins and subtle hints of fruit but otherwise seems rather flat. Drink up.

Ramon,
Interested that we both agreed on the Canon at separate offlines but where we digress was with the Magdelaine and Cdm.

10 people converged to eat a la carte at this great restuarant and the food showed very well along with the wines that we enjoyed. Nyetimber 2003 This English sparkling brut was interesting to taste, some sweet pineapple was apparent and not the usual yeasty qualities that I was expecting. Dunn 1982...

Had this at lunch yesterday at the KIttle House. Decanted for 2 hours, with half in the decanter and half in the bottle. Amazing and powerful nose, with a fantastic long finish. I figured that I would take a gamble to see if this was still shut down and I am glad that it was not. It will be interest...

Well its been some days for me to figure out my thoughts. I found that this vintage compared with the last three were the most approachable and drinking much better than 2006-2008. That being stated, some wines faired much better than others My highlights were: Smith Haut Lafite Pavie Macquin Pichon...

Claudius, I do not think that the 2008 are ready either. The UGC is in NYC at the end of this month, I know that the 2009's will be poured and I will place good odds that some 2008's will also be open as well.

Alex,
I did not read the WB thread, sometimes they get way too long and boring. Suffice it to say, I can pick up the Cantemerle for $28.95 a bottle here in Westchester NY, and let them sleep if need be. It is my go to wine in Bordeaux, and my son's birth year.

I decanted this wine and paired it with Osso Bucco in a red wine reduction sauce. I last has this wine about seven years ago and was very impressed at that point. Tonight however, I was less than impressed. It had a great nose of cedar and spice and that peppery aroma. The mouthfeel was nice and gav...
