Re: "Classic" Cali Cab Tasting
Nice tasting. I have always found the 1992s approachable (as have others) and because of this some pundits marked them down as a whole because "they couldn't age". Well, my experience and yours argues the contrary. Just try the Beringer PR 1992.

Re: Sauternes lovers: wassup with the 2001s?
While I generally agree with SauternesSteve's generalities, I think it will be longer before the 2001 Sauternes come around. This was such a monumental vintage that the acid/sugar combo will take longer to become the secondary characteristics we all know and love. Time will tell, but at least a few ...

Yes they are shut down tight. Believe your early impressions. I am not touching for another 5+ years. This is an amazing vintage. Sauternes is a 'cult'-type wine and has always been. The good buys are because the retailers overbought.

Re: TN: 2009 Kruger-Rumpf Münsterer Rheinberg Riesling Kabinett (Germany, Nahe)
The rumor is that the brown bottles from certain areas and green from certain other areas is going bye-bye. The reason supposedly is the competition from the beer industry which apparently has grown immensely the past 10+ years in Germany. So certain areas cannot get the right color bottle. Check ou...

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Parker/Rodenstock dinner?
One of the main things that strikes me odd in the Parker/Rody affair discussion is the presumption that Parker has one of the best older Bordeaux tasting experiences. I see no proof of this in his writings, history, etc. I fully expect Broadbent, Sutcliffe and some of the other British critics have ...

Angelus ; for the lesser, hmmmm possibly Chasse-Spleen (It has always been a microcosm of the vintage-so in a good vintage it is good, bad vintage it is less good. So in that regard it never dissapoints)
