Re: Saturday, April 2nd Dinner at Charlie Palmer

Omar: I just communicated with Jay and Tom. Jay deposited the check but he's going to get the money to Tom. Jay owes you $5.00 but he insists he's good for it. So you're all set, we have you down for Saturday night at Charlie Palmer. Apologies for the confusion and thank you for clarifying! Looking...

Will a Trump White House change the house cuvée Schramsberg to his own? Make state dinners great again!

25th Birthday Dinner (including '88 Mouton)

Hello all, I thought I would contribute some notes from my 25th birthday dinner which I hosted with friends last night at my place in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. With the exception of Pol Roger, the menu consisted of entirely Left Bank wines. (All courtesy of Winebid apart from the Pol and the Bl...

Visiting the Médoc

Hello all, I'm disappointed that I didn't have the chance to join for this year's BWE festivities because I was still abroad (I had such a fantastic time last year) but I will most certainly be joining you in 2014 given that it will be conveniently held in the city that I'll be living in once again-...

So sad that I missed BWE '13 by a week since I've just gotten back from the UK. Very excited and can't wait for BWE '14 in D.C., however!

Château Palmer Tasting in Oxford (9 January 2013)

Hello all, Forgive my absence, but quite a bit has happened since we all met at BWE 2012 in Washington last spring. I've now found myself back in the UK where I'm completing my graduate work in International Politics at the University of Edinburgh. Only after briefly arriving here in October, I was ...

Re: Seeking input on Dallas '13 dates of April 13th weekend.

How I wish I could attend. Given that I'll be in Houston the following week (also for Wagner but not the Ring-- "Tristan und Isolde" at the Houston Grand Opera, instead) it's a shame that I'll still be across the pond the weekend you are planning the annual round BWE festivities. I'll cert...

Re: BWE Saturday night highlights

The '64 Latour, '76 Cheval-Blanc, '85 Marguax, '80 d'Yquem, '86 Gruaud Larose, and '50 Lynch-Bages (!) were all very memorable. Thanks to everyone for making it a fantastic evening, which I hope will be my first of many future BWE dinners. I look forward to seeing many of you very soon!

What is the typical dress code for the dinner? Black Tie?

Very much looking forward to it!

Re: BWE 12 in DC: Saturday dinner 3/31

Sounds terrific. I'm looking forward to participating in my first (of what I hope to be many) BWE Annual Convention. I'm also lucky to find myself working in DC this upcoming year as well as finding such an enthusiastic group of claret lovers.

Re: BWE 12 in DC: Saturday dinner 3/31

Sure! I'm a former member of the Oxford University Blind Tasting team and will be living in Washington for the next year. I'm particularly fond of the wines of Bordeaux (specifically Left Bank) and look forward to participating in events and meeting members through BWE. As new member, I have a few o...
