A German, a rosé, a Zinfandel
This weekend, I invited my parents and inlaws for dinner. Since Simone is born, they never refused any dinner invitation. We had pork chops won the bbq grill with green pepper salsa. A really good recipe. The wines were : 2007 Markus Molitor Kabinett : Light sugar and fruit. Balanced and refined. Lo...

Re: Some spectacular burgundies at Kittle House
Many thanks for reporting Comte Flaneur. Reading this make me feel like I would like to live in NY... Burgundies are always interesting wines. It is fun to read comments about the 1995 or 1991 white and 1996 or 1980 reds. I would like to drink more white Bourgognes but find the prices a bit high. In...

Hi Danny,
I'll be in Gatineau, normally from the June 27th to 30th (and maybe until July 1st or 2nd). Any open night that we could do a wine dinner? It has been a long time since I met you and Danielle.

not an obsession for me, but I like Sauternes and Barsac. These are Marie-Claude's favorite wines. Unfortunately, i don't buy too much because I did not find any way to enjoy them over all the lenght of a dinner. But for sure, these wines are the most compealing and complex wines of all. Thanks Alex for your comments on those ''type'' of Bordeaux. I'm looking for good wine at lower price at the moment, and the less known AOC of Bordeaux is what I'm mainly looking for. In 2004, when I was in Bordeaux, it was really fun to visit the Cru Classés with you. Next time I,ll be in Bordeaux,...

Quick TN from the wines opened this weekend. 2006 Isole E olena Chianti Classico : Even if the vintage 06 is rated better, I preferred the 05 of that wine. The 06 was a bit unidimensionnal. Nice cherries and dark spices, but not really exprensive in mouth. Hum? TN : 85. 2006 Trimback Gewurtaminer : ...

SDR, Thanks for the really detailled comments. For my part, i thought the 1985 Chateau Margaux was one of the best wine of the night, at the 09 DC convention dinner. For the 05 Croix du Casse, I would probably say that ''it is not my style'' instead of a bad wine. The high concentration and/or high oak is not what I'm looking for. If I want to compare that wine with something from the same AOC/price, let say that I much preffered the 00 Chateau Gombaude-Guillot....

The Numanthia was great, but nothing near the 98 rating of the WA. Especially if I compare it with some wines from Saturday...
