Re: A note on the 2003 Pontet Canet we had with Alfred Tesseron.

After reading through everyone's positive impressions about this wine I decided on popping a btl over the weekend. And I would have to agree that this wine is in a great place at present and does not appear to be on a faster evolutionary track. 93 maybe 94 points in my book and kudos to those of you...

Good topic! Back on March 15th I had a 2004 Clarendon Hills Hickinbotham Cabernet Sauvignon that pleasantly surprised me. A nose of black currant, cassis, cedar and tobacco lead way to a sweet licorice and tobacco driven palate that lingers. This has more in common with a classed growth from Saint J...

An inviting nose of blackberry, cherry, herbs and tobacco lead way to a red berried and licorice driven flavor profile along with drying tannins on the silky smooth finish. Modern in style for sure, but delicious to the last drop! 94 points

Looks like a Chateau Ste Michelle Merlot bottle. While the basic CSM line makes 3 red wines (cabernet Sauvignon, merlot and Syrah) we can eliminate the Syrah based on the bottle shape and then the varietal which is listed in black is only one word in length so that means it would have to be the merl...
