Ribeye and a bullseye
Ribeye and a bullseye
A 3 hour double decant revealed wonderfully pure aromas of blackberry and mossy, mushroom tones that led to a silky, saturated, blackberry and mineral driven flavors that maintained both tension and freshness through the long-lasting finish. 96+(+)

Did you feel the earthquake all the way up in Maine?

I was working from home and on a conference call and several of us on the call were all like, was that … until it was perfectly clear that it was the ground that was shaking.

I like the 100 point scale and when tasting young wines, I think score ranges should be more frequently used as wines can change. And for in bottle scores, I frequently use the plus sign when assigning a score as I am grading the wine in its current state while acknowledging that there is room for f...

I skip buying this cuvée and just spend the couple of bucks more on Les Picasses which is one of the great values in the world of fine wine which is kind of similar to my rationale when buying something like Clos de Roilette.

I frequently come away thinking that Larcis Ducasse shows its terroir at the UGC but have had the 100 point Parker 2005 and then the 2009 more recently, and they both showed primary and not particularly well.

I popped one of these recently and it showed aromas black currant, forest floor and cedar tones that led to plush, plummy, dark berry flavors that finished with a drying, mineral herbal edge. And I also gave it 92 points and bought it on release for $60/btl, boy were those the days.
