2014 Château L’Evangile - 3 hour double decant and this showed aromas of black cherry and raspberry that were rounded out with earthy, mushroom scents that are still framed by oak, and gave way to a rich, luxurious mouthful of bitter cherry, plum and spice flavors that echoed on the finish. 92+(++)...

Re: 2015 Chateau Cantenac Brown has been uncorked and other ramblings....

I had my first BC last year, 2009, and wow what a wine, I'm now a fan. I will see if 2015 is around my area. Cheers BC (Brane-Cantenac, 2nd Growth) is different estate than CB (Cantenac Brown, 3rd Growth) even if there isn’t a lot of distance between the two. I last tasted the 2015 CB upon release ...

Aromatically it is great with a little air whereas the palate is still primary and fruit driven, so I’d give it another Blanquito or 2 depending on your preference.

A Vermont waygu skirt and a 2012 Château Rauzan-Ségla; double decanted for an hour and this showed lovely aromas of floral Margaux berries, black plum, forest floor and cedar which gave way to a juicy, burst of dark cherry and black plum flavors which maintained a wonderful freshness through the fin...

Had the ‘89 Poyferre when Patrick was in town two weeks ago visiting his mom / sister. The Poyferre was at peak showing dare I say, an elegant seamless profile that only aged Bdx can deliver and was well deserving of a mid 90 point score and was a half notch better than the also impressive Barton fr...

It’s early maturity and wide open for business with its aromas starting to show nuance. I liked it and think it has a bright future and the first thing I did after drinking it, was WineSearcher-ed it, as I was thinking about doubling up as I really don’t own enough Pomerol. I participated in Loire Valley tasting the other night in a friends back yard and found myself in the mood for Cabernet Franc again tonight but just from Bdx. Mark, Just one question from my end and that is, since you are not buying the top wines from the vintage why buy now? I think many of the wines you are interested didn't really have all that successful of a futures campaign (granted with no official numbers this is an assumption based on what I see)...

After the ‘05 it jumped to the ‘15 which was the youngest Baron we had and I had offered the person that brought it an older btl in exchange but he wasn’t interested and so it goes. The blind Pichon Comtesse ringer was the 2010 vintage and it was youthfully oak ladened with a layered core of ripe fr...

Picked up a case of the 2020 Branaire Ducru for a laughable $360 + tax at Zachys during their cost slashing, inventory reduction sale in January of this year but have yet to broach it so appreciate the data point.
