Re: So what have you bought lately?

Poujeaux could be hit or miss....i remember i grabbed a few bottles of the 2000 and 2001 but thought both were somewhat thin and not particularly memorable. The 2009, however was in fact a very good wine. Perhaps the weather could have done magic there so need to revisit this estate. La Vieille Cure...

Re: TN 2002 Ducru Beaucaillou

Comte Drink one of the 2002 Ducru when you get your delivery to determine if they are ready to consume. Generally i like to drink them between 15-20 years old as most of the tannins are resolved and the fruit is dominant. The 2009 and 2014 at $80 would be a superb price and a much riper vintage to b...

Re: 2015 du Tertre: a BD special

The 2000 Du Tertre was a successful effort too...It was my first experience with the estate when it was initially referenced right here on BWE. I drank a few last year and have 1 bottle left. Sounds like i need to acquire a few of the 2015 and 2016....although prices have crept up

Concur on the 1989 Montrose... it's a tremendous wine....have 1 bottle left of it from a OWC which i bought from a collector that had to move from NYC to California and it was the best purchase i ever made. Each of those bottles were memorable.

Structure over fruit. That is message i came away with after consuming 500ml of the 750ml bottle. Not to misrepresent, there is fruit here, but the early summer wild blueberry with a bit of tartness takes a back seat to the big shouldered Bordeaux structure. will need to explore Cellar Tracker further. Jim you know your will be weak when the 2018's come out and a trip to NH infusion center will be inevitable. i think we need to discuss 2018 futures at this point. another phenomenal vintage that may be as good/better than the 2016's. this buying hiatus i...

There was an offer of a 6 pack of 2016 Usseglio at $35 per bottle running yesterday. If in fact another 15% came off that price that would be under $30 a bottle shipped.

This calls for an ultimate showdown challenge....We've done this in NYC for the 2000 vintage....For me the Palmer won that challenge.

2016 needs to be tasted on a grander scale...With 20-40 wines from different regions...hoping they aren't shutting down yet
