Re: Magdelaine 1970 and Bernard Glantenay Volnay Santenots 2010

How has the winemaking changed for current vintages of Magdelaine in relation to the wines made pre 1995?

Seems the older vintages of Magdelaine are made to age gracefully and seem to show well even at 50 years.

Blanquito... the 1995 is monumental...drank my last bottle last year.....spotted many of same ripe fruit characteristics bu no heat at all....more of a backwards wine than an upfront modernist swill as you refer to it....I think winemaking in California should revert to the style that we enjoyed fro...

Malescot being offered at $41 seems reasonable....i think my initial reaction of seeing 10-15% reduction in prices may have underestimated market conditions. I have not bought Malescot since the 2000 vintage but think paid something close to this price....so 20 years of pricing eroded in one year......

The low(er) alcohol levels would suggest more interesting and complex wines and less in your face fruit bombs. I prefer this style and may skip 2017 and 2018 vintages moving right towards 2019. Great early notes here.
