Too many chateau too hot at the moment and too many 2009/10 of this waiting still.
Sorry, not for me now.
In 5 up to 10 yrs from now maybe. No hurry to buy this one now. Price won't improve on that wine dramatically, for sure.

Saint Julien for sentimental reason.
Solely Latour.
But that's no appellation i guess?
Margaux is in the pole position now, for reasons. 8-)

Pessac. No improvement as far as i can see.

Margaux is hot since 2015. A lot is going on now. Some may say there was much space for improvement, but they took their chances.

Re: The 2019 Chateau Meyney has been uncorked and other ramblings....

Cave spoiler. Nothing new here in good old europe, guys. Almost every vintage since 2009 performed well. Except 2011 and 2013 maybe. 2012 an 2017 in context somewhat ok. But look out for 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 too if you can find one at a reasonable tag. Smart buys. Won't ever give 94P's for the ...

Not sure if 05 will ever come around. A "lost" vintage if you dare. 78 Giscours performed well, ts and cork in good condition, but none to keeper any longer, drink now. No reason to decant, cellarcold, just pull the cork, give it some air and enjoy. 3 more to go. @ jim Don't like redhead e...

Can't copy ostensible poor quality of 2005 DDC.
Just way to young until now. In my book a great classic claret. Give it 5 up to 10 more years.
Not a big supporter of 2000 DDC after half of my case.
SHL and Pape Clement in the same boat did a far better job in 2000.

Re: Who’s indubitably making their best wine ever?

Define BEST wine. There is where the story begins. I think your socialization to wine determines your attitude towards it. Evolution does not necessarily mean improvement. And yes, wines from the 80s and 90s that were good no longer have to be. We have to accept that today's wine production is diffe...

Tasted LB 19 en primeur 6/20 and was blown away.
Not as sophisticated as the Pichons ok, but lots of wild dark power. Will work that out. 50yrs + to go.
The best Lynch for ages.

Palmer and Rauzan Segla for sure. LLC and Ducru, La Fleur Petrus and Conseillante. Easy, but.... arrrg, ...

Hey Jim. 98+ that seems to be high for a understated wine. Lol.
So if you' r searchin for an 98++ understated wine in 2014, Ducru B. is one for you. The better understated wine in 2014 imo.
Still love LB for what it is, but it's fate is and will to be second.
