Re: A St Emilion and a St Estephe.

Tronquoy Lalande belongs to the owners of Montrose and has been renamed to Tronquoy recently. The newer releases of this wine must be a real steel, offering excellent QPR below 30 USD.

Another Bordeaux 2014 ten years

This report is slightly more positive compared to the Farr tasting:

Bordeaux 2020 Southwold Tasting at FarrVintners

The vintage has some heights but is lacking the consistency of 2019. Montrose 2020 again one of the wines of the vintage and Langoa Barton 2020 one of the Best Buys.

I am in Sardinia with my two girls, I enjoyed some great Vermentino from the Island. Great stuff during the heat here and quite affordable.

Re: Bordeaux 2019 In Bottle Tasting at FarrVintners

I’ll make note of that, Stefan, we’re planning on traveling through Europe at some point, maybe not this year but possibly next year. I’ll definitely look you up! Hi Jim, you are always welcome - I am looking forward to meeting you in person in Switzerland. I am living close to the Zurich airport s...

Dear Winelovers

My cellar is full with 2016 and 2019.

If someone is planning to visit Switzerland in the near future, drop me an eMail - I am more than willing to kill a few bottles with you crazy cowboys ;-)

Kind regards

Bordeaux 2019 In Bottle Tasting at FarrVintners

Very interesting article on the 2019 vintage where prominent wine critics are confirming the extraordinary quality across all appellations with Chateau Gloria being the value wine of the vintage.

Hi Jim, I liked the tasting notes of Mr. Parker, but this tasting note is even better! Cheers Stefan

Re: Best QPR in the 1855 classification

I tried the 2019 St. Pierre during an arrivage tasting in Zurich about one year ago; the wine blew me away, it was for me the best wine of the evening besides Lynch Bages, Leoville Barton and Brane Cantenac. I also have the 2009 in my cellar which was rated 98 points by Parker. The wine was a powerh...

Re: It's getting around to that time of year again....

I suggest Montrose (2014 or 2016) or Figeac (2014 and above). Both never made it onto the list.

Re: Favorite Pomerol <$100?

I can recommend Clos Du Clocher and Domaine de L’Eglise. Two phantastic price vs. value wines. Try the 2015 and 2016 vintages. Cheers, Stefan

Re: Time to start thinking about the 2021 BWE Wine of the Year...

I discovered that Montrose never made it for the BWE wine of the year. I recently drunk a bottle of 2003 and it was one of the best Bdx wines I ever had.

Some wines which where sold out are now available again in Switzerland. Figeac for CHF 165.- and LMHB for CHF 245.-. Any thoughts on these two wines?
