Not wine related, but just mixing it up inthe spirit of the holiday season.

Would you have played golf with this guy?

TN: 1979 Pichon Longueville Baron

1979 Ch. Pichon Longueville Baron, Pauillac (Bordeaux) Smelled pretty much of an old leather chair that’s been sitting in the attic, with some old wood as well. Tasted of smooth ripe, but lean, fruit from start to finish. Some dusty notes. This bottle is past its drinking prime, but it still worked...

Last time I had the 1990 Cos was during a vertical back in July and I recall being impressed with it more than your TN suggests.
Even as your 85F backyard air then couldn't have been any worse than the 95F East River-infused city aromatics we had then.

1994 Pape Clement Blanc

Had it 3 or 4 times during past 3 or 4 BWE events in NYC and, aside from the one time when it was deemed corked, it was the real stud amongst the bunches of sissy reds, from Left and Right, that we happen to have had with it.

Bill,

I liked the aged ones from the 80's that I've been able to taste from Trimbach's CFE line-up. I've stored away a few from vintages late-90s to mid-2000s, mostly with the intention of aging them. Any particular vintage(s) that are susceptible to premox?

Trimbach Cuvee Frederic Emile Riesling, Alsace From a .375ml bottle, this is one with a very pronounced aroma of mineral, tropical fruit and diesel. Full-bodied, slightly more rich than eith...

1989 Ch. La Vieille Cure, Fronsac According to a few Googled description of this estate in the Libourne, the vines grow on south-west facing plateaus that “drinks up the sun” and enjoys good drainage. This provides some of the reasons for the generously ripe, rich and somewhat concentrated efforts ...
