I don't get your point. So the Yankees won 95 games. Who'd the local press talk about? Definitely not the Mets, right?

Re: Baseball and Bordeaux

David, I don't think it was about SF defense. There wasn't really much offense by Detroit during the series that SF needed to exert much stellar defense on.
Btw, that '89 Pichon Baron is a heck of a wine. In spite of the Tigers, you did well with the wines.

I'm sorry but, I just don't get the "30+ year old wine" bit in your TN Bill. I've had this wine over the last several years, and it always showed as young, but with significant air time, showed itself to be an excellent 1996 Left Bank wine. But can't hide the fact that it can benefit more ...

Your TNs made it appear less of a spanking and more like a couple of excitable bitch-slapping on the Cali wines. Looks like some of the Cali are seriously good or, at the very least, fun drinks. I've never had the 1990 Troplong and it's amazing to note that a Bordeaux that tries to make itself out a...

Looks like a fun blind tasting. Thanks for the good notes. 1982 Montrose had always been good-but-never-great when I tasted, and appear lightweight when compared to the other more heralded wines in the vintage, including Cos d’Estournel. Excellent baseball-watching wine, the 2000 Giscours. I wish I am drinking something as good right now, but I opted for the available white in the refrigerator, a Laurent Gerard 2011 Sancerre, which is OK but not in 2000 Giscours caliber. Well, 2005 PB (Pichon Baron?) was swimming in the $140s pricing post release. So, I guess 125 bucks is a good buy.

As far as 2005 LB is concerned, both Lynch Bages and Leoville Barton were at one point in the high $150s post release. So, I suppose 125 bucks is good for either of them.
