Maybe Kasich or Jeb will try again. I think it would be a hoot if Liz Cheney got into the race, I like her! But the MAGAs hate her more than Pence.

Not sure. They keep hinting at a presidential run. But, I’m not sure he has enough name recognition and he’s not liked by the MAGA sycophants.

Re: Will you join me in drinking to oblivion as American democracy ends on Tuesday night.

Our district in MD, which includes a very liberal Democratic Montgomery County as well as western Maryland (Republicans) looks like it is still in a tight race between Neil Parrott and David Trone with Parrott leading. Trone's ads said Parrott wanted to tattoo people with AIDS. Not sure if that was ...

Re: BWE Saturday night… Wow. Just wow.

This was my first BWE convention and I was amazed at all the wonderful wines! Just unbelievable! The Champagnes were wonderful (Demiere is a new one for me to seek out). I'm not sure what I'd consider my WOTN but perhaps 2002 Lafite - whoa! All the first growths were a special treat for me. So many ...

I agree that Dunn Howell mountain was drinking beautifully last night. I didn't get to try that particular Charmes Chambertin but I did enjoy the Ponsot one as well as the Clos des Lambrays and the Les Saint Georges. All lovely wines. The Togni was special - just love his wines. I have the '94 waiti...

On Friday I'll have to sit across the room from MichaelP and Harry, who cannot stand to be close to open bottles of PN. Probably I'll bring 2002 Ponsot Charmes-Chambertin and 2002 Clos des Lamprays, neither of which I have tasted because I only have a couple of bottles of each and didn't want to dr...

I don't have any older Burgundies to bring. For Friday, I have a magnum of 1994 Insignia I think I will pop. As well as a 2016 Eisele Sauvignon Blanc and a 2013 Peter Michael Belle Cote to go with the seafood. Although, you all seem to want wines ending in a vintage year 2. So maybe I will switch on...

Bordeaux Down the Shore

I was at the shore during blustery weather from Ian and met up with Joel and Catalina at Jay’s place in Rehobeth for a mini Bordeaux dinner. My first time meeting Jay who was a wonderful host. Joel was kind enough to prepare us a delicious lamb chop meal to go with these wines. With all the wines we...

I guess my age shows but I always think of Beaujolais as a quaffing wine for summer nights and parties. I did try those Clos de La Roilette wines and just did not care for them at all. I felt they were terribly over extracted and hard to drink. But I was at that same tasting Eric spoke of with the M...

Found this bottle in the cellar after rearranging things for a new rack I set up (which I really like). I can’t remember buying the wine. But nice nose, lots of fruit and tannins work well with it. Cost or ratings weren’t the reasons I chose Giscours for #1 and Le Gay #2. A 1976 Giscours turned me on to fine wine besides Gallo and Almaden. A 1982 Le Gay made me decide to start hoarding Bordeaux!
