Izak, Thank you I have been reading it as it has developed on your site. Very informative and interesting. Also a big thank you for your recommendation of La Lagune 2017, wow what a wine! It is easily the best of the 2017s, that I have had so far. Have you heard anything from Bordeaux regarding the ...

Finished of the Bordeaux Superior and the SA Bordeaux imitation, Nowhere near great. Not bad but not my stuff. probably around 81-82ish. Did open a cheapish Graves. And it is doing great. Will write more later, to tired now. Keep drinking my friends!

I would have to go for Ridge, but I have not had them in awhile. I sometimes enjoy Beringer Knights Valley Cab. Have had some good Shiraz/Syrah from Penfolds, Montes Alpha, and Torbreck. Don't have a strict price limit for new world wines but I tend to go Bordeaux and Northern Rhone when I spent mor...

Re: What are we drinking in lockdown?

Nic, yes while not really bad, still didn't give me enough of what I want. A bit more gets me Ch LT, and a couple of $ over that and I am up at my beloved Ch Lilian Ladouys. I just feel I am trying to cheap out, in order to put the money into the future cellar....always a struggle but a good one.

Re: What are we drinking in lockdown?

Tonight I am drinking Ch Feret-lambert 2018 vs Rupert & Rothschild Classic 2017, of course not great wine we normally see posts about here. It is my quest to find wine I can drink while my wines in my small but growing cellar matures. Ch. Feret Lambert, 90% merlot, 14 month oak aged, started out...

Hi Ian, Thank you very impressive analysis and very appreciated and inspirational. Many of those wine are way above my price range. I am somewhat surprised that you would not have Ch Lagrange in the ranking, from my very limited experience it comes a lot higher than Ch Gloria. Thank you! Great post!...

Yes Jim, Caroline Frey certainly knows what she is doing. I am definitely going to start adding Ch La Lagune to my cellar. This was my first experience with La Lagune, and I am very impressed. If I remember it correctly I think Izak was a big fan of their 2017 also.

Somehow was away from the BWE forum for awhile, but from memory, I have been testing some of the 2017 lately. Re: New years wines 2 second and Cantemerle

Nic, Yes in general I do agree that second wines can be a bit of a let down in some cases, especially considering the sometimes high price. Sarget has though for me been rather impressive even as a QPR had amongst others the 2008 last year and it was great. Interesting that you would mention Pibran,...

New years wines 2 second and Cantemerle

Les Tourelles de Longueville 2014, Nice fruit smell with clear cassis perfume.
