2019 Vintage + Alcohol
Hello Everyone, For those who have tasted the 2019 vintage, how does the alcohol levels feel? I think a lot of the 2018's have a "hot" chatacter to them...does this happen with the 2019 wines? For some reason I remember reading somewhere about the 2019's also suffering from this, despite t...

How was the Sito Moresco? I have some 2016, and was wondering what the drinking window is on these. I totally forgot about mine until seeing the photo above!

Re: 2018 Lafon Rochet... 14.5% but seems like the real deal.
Thanks, Jim. Good to know. Maybe I will get some. I think for 18 I am grabbing the Leoville Barton, Langoa Barton, La Dame, Lafon, and d'Issan.
All of these positive threads about the 19's makes me want to go light on 18 and heavy on 19. Cheers!

How would these 18's compare to the 15's? I almost pulled the trigger on the 18's, but was hesitant on the vintage. Do the 18's come across more ripe than the 15's, or vise versa? I seem to like the 15's more than I thought I would, but curious if 18 is silimar...I have not had any as of yet.

Re: Second Labels
AKR, very good recommendation with Napanook. One of the reasons why I started this thread was because I've had some great luck with Napa second wines (Napanook, Lyndenhurst, M.Étain, etc.), and I was curious if it was worth exploring in Bordeaux as well.

Re: Second Labels
Thank you both for posting some experiences. I read a lot about 2nd wines such as La Dame de Montrose and Le Marquis de Calon Segur being very nice for the price. I have never had any second wine, hence the question...but I guess maybe I will give it a go with one or two to see for myself.

Second Labels
What is everyone's thoughts on second labels? Worth the money or totally a waste? Let's break it down into 3 tiers...high priced chateaux, mid priced chateaux, and lower priced chateaux. For example: High Priced Chateaux Carruades de Lafite Pavillon Rouge du Margaux Les Forts de Latour Le Clarence d...

Re: 1855 Classification
Thanks for the replies. I kind of figured the top 5 would probably fall into those chateaux. I would also be interested in everyone's opinions on the top chateaux that you think aren't living up to their classification. This is where it seems to get a little more interesting to me.

1855 Classification
I know there is currently some work going on to make a 21st century classification on this forum, but I was just curious on what everyone's opinion is on this topic. Without eliminating any of the current chateaux in the 1855 classification, and without including any of the 1st Growths or adding any...

Re: 2018 and 2019...where do they fall?
I know 2015 and 2018 are ripe vintages, but how does 2019 stack up with ripeness? Between 2015 and 2016?

It sounds like both 2018 and 2019 are solid buys...but with 2019 being superior.

Re: 2018 and 2019...where do they fall?
Is it safe to say that 2018 would be comparable to 2015, and 2019 would be comparable to 2016?

2018 and 2019...where do they fall?
Let's say since 2014. The ranking pretty much goes like this: 2016 2015 2014 (possibly ranked higher with more "classic" lovers) 2017 My question is: Where exactly does 2018 and 2019 fall into this list? I purchased quite a bit of 2015 and 2016. I skipped 2017, but would be interested in k...
