Re: 1986 Ducru Beaucaillou

Lovely. I'm betting this must have been an ex-Chateau release where they weeded out all the bad ones. The one that Howard brought to the Saturday dinner was an ex-chat and was great. So many awesome 86's at our table. Yes the recorked ones that were re-released in 2011 seem to have an excellent tra...

1986 Ducru Beaucaillou

Wife and I both loved it. Would've guessed it was only 10-15 years old blind. From CT One of the ones rebottled in 2011. Just kept on improving through the evening even after a 3 hour decant. Very nice nose with floral notes, menthol, black plum and forest after a rain shower. Doesn't "leap fro...

Same strategy, 2016 Calon Segurs for avg around $90... 2016 Montrose sub 150..... impossible to pass on. The 2014 cos were $115. I have to believe this will eventually end, so may as well...

Uncorked and left open for about 4 hours in the cellar. I rarely point out "brooding fruit" but this was a great example. My CT note: Very aromatic on the nose with a spice I couldnt quite put my finger on, sweet wood or cream with plum and blackberry. Masculine. Deep and brooding fruit. P...
