Re: Two white Burgs we had over Thanksgiving were oxidized

The Raveneau we had was very nice.
But the Rieslings where singing.
Why do Rieslings seem to age effotlessly while the white Burgs are troublesome?

I love passion too. But I really like it when it is well reasoned.
I haven't read her book but most of her statements in the article are silly.
In particular I love her tasting when she states she likes the wine because it has no fruit. WTF?
Drink water.
Anyway, I'm not a fan.

I couldn't quit figure out her point. The article seemed muddled with a distinct lack of focus and any clear direction. It seemed to insinuate that only those few people using what they consider to be "proper" methods are making "proper" wines. Some of the statements are just red...

I would stress: 1. Grape varieties. 2.The purpose of the appellation system in France. Terroir is king and considers variety. While in USA nad other places variety comes first. 3.Point out the taste of place in French wines. Soil etc. Oyster shell in Chablsis. Also history of Clos in Burgundy versus...

Sorry the Ravenau didn't show better.
It was probably a little long in the tooth. At this point is is more about soil and mineralas than fruit.
I have one bottle left I think and may try pairing with some oysters. That should work pretty well.
