I still can't read it but thanks, David, I get the idea. Re: 2014 Clerc Milon

Yes I think a comparison to 1989 Lynch is a bit much but what is so distinctive about this 2014 Clerk Milon is how distinctively Pauillac it is, just beautiful lead pencil, cassis, and cedar, like the good old Lynches of yore.

Sounds nice, but not the 97 point wine of which I have already consumed two cases. I have one sealed case left, protected at the bottom of my case stack. To me this is a young '89 Lynch.

And I’ll tell you, David, these most recent vintages seem expensive. I stopped in at the New Hampshire Hampton North store on the way back from the airport yesterday to pick up my 2015 Barons and Lalandes and some 2021s were on the shelves, very pricey indeed. Two d'Armailhacs and a revelation....

I ordered two d'Armailhacs with meals over my vacation, a 1990 at La Tour d'Argent in Paris and a 2016 at a nice little French bistro in Bangkok. The 1990 d'Armailhac was a perfect match with le canard in Paris, stellar, still youthful, no signs of aging at all in the color, but complex, fresh, beau...

What can I say, for my palate the 2014 Pichon Baron is brilliant. I previously rated it 97 points for its classic profile, I'm hard pressed to bring it down from that point range. It is opaque purple developing into a hint of a cosmic purple/red like on the horizon of a dawn on the moon of Titan, wo...

Okay, here is our roadmap to a win. 1. The Democrats have a strong get out the vote organization. 2. The Democrats have a strong get out the vote organization, which will get us that extra .05 to 1.0% margins in AZ, NV, GA, NC, WI, MI, and PA. And we don't even have to win all of those. If we win WI...

More Meyney merriment....

I had a bottle of the 2020 Meyney the other night, it is right up there with the outstanding 2019. Spicy, upfront fruit, "modern" but in a good way for my taste, rich gobs of black fruit and blueberries. Yum. I liked it so much that I bought a case, at $30 from Saratoga that is a very good...

But others, like Nic, seem to like it. I think Jeff Leve's 92 point assessment is about right. I guess I just expected someth...

Looking at the cellar tracker notes it seems to be a bit controversial, Nic, as the notes seem to be all over the place. I liked the 2011 Calon Segur better, and the 2014, etc. I have one bottle left, I'll hold it for a while.

Boy that's a tough one, Nic, it's like comparing the 2024 Celtics to the 1986 Celtics. I don't want to discriminate against the older bottle but I just thought the 2016 Lafite was perfection. You have a lot more experience than me, Stefan, but one of the things about Momtazi for me is its consistency from vintage to vintage. I have a half dozen bottles in my cellar and I can't even tell you the vintage, it's kind of like Geyserville, I just expect it to be a B to A- every year.

I dunno, Nicola, if it takes Ben & Jerry's to drag out some life of a Bordeaux wine, said wine is struggling. This wine is just boring. I had three bottles and now have one left, the first two were unimpressive. There is nothing structurally wrong with the wine, it is still youthful, but I just ...
