Re: So what have you bought lately?

Ah well probably for the best, they are protecting me from myself. They have bent the rules for me before, letting me close out the purchases after the sale is over, etc. I would think they would be willing to work with me to sell me 18 bottles of wine for $12k but I guess not, ah well, it's not all...

Ha ha I am certain he is referencing you Ian, he who picked out that 1988 Pichon Baron blind back in 2015. That may be one of the most impressive fears I’ve seen in all the years of BWE.

The 2009 Giscours was a BWE wine of the year, Mark, I think we liked it in its youth but I agree with you, it was tight as a witch’s ass when I had it last year. I recall Musigny151 saying, if you like the 2009 Giscours wait til you try the 2010.

This guy is being an asshole at the Hampton South store, Gerry, I know he’s bullshitting me…. We also cannot take orders/payment over the phone. Y...

I had a 2010 La Confession last year that was a disappointment. 2009 Giscours was closed for business. 2009 d’Armailhac was spectacular.

Re: The 2014 Domaine de Chevalier has been uncorked and other ramblings....

A beautiful wine, true to Graves. A nod to modernness but not offensively so. The fruit is ripe and fresh but the wine is overall elegant. If I were drinking this blind I would wonder if it were a right banker, or a Graves. Opened up with air, the last sips were the best. For me, these 2014s are dri...

The 2019 Meyney has more depth and richness, the 2020 Meyney has more balance, these are wines that will not appeal to all palates. I prefer the 2019 slightly more, and thus rate it 92+ points, 92 points for the 2020. Both wines stand out for their rich, distinctive, opaque purple color. Chateau Mey...
