to celebrate, finally, closing on our beach condo we opened this lovely champagne. No flaws, full body, excellent length with lovely notes of yeast and toast. A winner! Only downer is that it was my last bottle

I went through a case quite happily of the 87 Lalande. Since 87 was a "bad" year, it was inexpensive. Good to see it's still drinking well.

We're here in TN visiting my folks and just got back from the 4th of July parade in Sewanee-classic small town version. Now off to to the lake for a dip. We had my uncle and assorted cousins over for dinner a couple of nights ago and drank a couple of 89 Barolos-not bad and a 95 Potensac which was q...

I usually open 3 bottles. One for the glass in my left hand, one for the glass in my right amd one for mrs vino. This works well for other wines as well.

a reliable QPR in my book. The 2000 aged well in a double mag format-we opened it last year and it was quite nice...as you say, no real complexity but easy to quaff.

First post here, Jay Winton told me to check things out. It seems that there are some interesting conversations going on. I do not want to get flamed on my first post, but I am ITB, and we do purchase many wines on the "gray" market. I cannot really say too much about other retailers, as ...

The 2001 Liot at Bassins is a good QPR for $26 (I think). I did see signs of seepage on a few so if you buy online, ask them to inspect your bottles. I also have had the 2005 which was also good and a bit cheaper. Does anyone have any info about this producer?

Re: TN: 2005 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau
IM very humble opinion, le crau's need significant time to show their stuff especially in good-great vintages. I had a 375 of the 98 a couple of years ago that was pretty tannic and tight even after decanting but with lots of promise. An old style CNDP, again, in my very humble opinion. Harry, pleas...

most of the ebob outcasts have moved to winebeserker.com. I invited Daniel Posner (recently banned from ebob land) over here-good guy ITB with whom I have dealt. I've had one business dealing with Josh a few years ago. There was an issue with shipping and he went out of his way to make sure I received my wine in a timely manner. Re: rosé time
very timely post Nic. Another one I've been enjoying (on second case) is from Spain 2007 Campellares "Rosado," Rioja, Spain. A delicious crisp rose for the wonderful price of $6.

1999 Sociando-Mallet
My last bottle wasn't good (my TN reflected this) so with some trepidation I opened another to accompany our grilled buffalo burgers. This one was much, much better with plenty of fruit and decent length. Certainly not a top tier SM but fine tonight. No great wines, only great bottles? Or good in th...

I've bought some wine from Daniel Posner and we've traded a few emails. He's not a Bordeaux fan and I hope to get together with him sometime and try to change his mind. He's really been stirring the pot on the Miller issue (with good reason I think). Niller owned a winestore in Baltimore for a numbe...
