Assistance needed-Loire whites
My father has asked me to put together a case of everyday Loire whites for him. Pricewise say $15 and under though I might throw in a couple of ringers. I can do this but thought I'd get some suggestions from the learned quaffers here present.

I seem to remember the week and weekend after Labor day being discussed. Peggy has to be in Boston for business anyway that midweek so we could head from there. Of course, this may not work with everyone but throwing it out there to keep the discussion going.

I won't comment individually but I thought the Rhones drank well as did the burgs. The Italians were a mixed bag with Howard's Faletto Barolo probably my favorite; however I was sipping at a prodigious rate so my comments are not official. Thank you mrs vino (now a board member) for serving as DD.

I've had too many bottles from Schneiders that were off to really trust their provenance a great deal and the main store gets pretty warm in the summer. Granted, they offer some excellent deals but tred carefully. It's somewhat out of the way for me so don't get down there too often.

probably macs as their provenance is better than Schneders, IMHO. But keep in mind both stores store a lot of their stock offsite and it may not be immediately available. Stuart, we can do that, or... I've got an '87 Nieport Colheita I can bring. Not exactly the pedigree (or even the style) of a '63 Taylor, but it might do the trick if you would prefer to serve the '63 on Saturday. Your call. On the other thread about the Dino dinner, I suggested that my bottle of '63 Taylor go on the Friday list instead of Saturday. ok, so the 88 and 89 LaLagune. Caveat: the provenance on the 89 is not great as I've noticed seepage on previous bottles due to excessive heat, I believe .
