Assistance needed-Loire whites

My father has asked me to put together a case of everyday Loire whites for him. Pricewise say $15 and under though I might throw in a couple of ringers. I can do this but thought I'd get some suggestions from the learned quaffers here present.

I've been trying a few 07 CDRs with good results. There are some excellent values out there but they all need time.

For us, as we depart from Logan, a circular route would make sense so we end on Sunday evening closer to the airport as we leave Monday. Thursday at the BD's house sounds great and then off we go...

Our flights are booked. We'll drive up from Boston on Thursday the 10th and leave the following Monday the 14th. Hope this works for everyone but the fare was too cheap to pass up. Let the games begin!

I seem to remember the week and weekend after Labor day being discussed. Peggy has to be in Boston for business anyway that midweek so we could head from there. Of course, this may not work with everyone but throwing it out there to keep the discussion going.

I won't comment individually but I thought the Rhones drank well as did the burgs. The Italians were a mixed bag with Howard's Faletto Barolo probably my favorite; however I was sipping at a prodigious rate so my comments are not official. Thank you mrs vino (now a board member) for serving as DD.

Thanks everyone for the usual incredible BWE generosity. It was glad to see the gang and I've encouraged the palate queen to join on her own. Stefan, we will get over to Aggie country. Everyone travel safely and onto Maine and Chicago!

A 98 Beaucastel was one of many excellent Rhones we drank last night and it certainly held its own against contenders such as the 01 Pegau Laurence and the 90 Pegau reservee

I've had too many bottles from Schneiders that were off to really trust their provenance a great deal and the main store gets pretty warm in the summer. Granted, they offer some excellent deals but tred carefully. It's somewhat out of the way for me so don't get down there too often.

probably macs as their provenance is better than Schneders, IMHO. But keep in mind both stores store a lot of their stock offsite and it may not be immediately available. Another store to check out is Wide World of Wines on Wisconsin Avenue-they have quite an inventory of older wines with decent sto...

Not exactly the pedigree (or even the style) of a '63 Taylor, but it might do the trick if you would prefer to serve the '63 on Saturday. Your call. ok, so the 88 and 89 LaLagune. Caveat: the provenance on the 89 is not great as I've noticed seepage on previous bottles due to excessive heat, I believe .
