Re: A rare dinner with friends (and some great wines)

A nice dinner indeed, Krug is always a nice starter. Yes, the lack of socialization is very tiresome but we will persevere. I brought a 99 Rieussec to my London dinner BC with Ian and his wine group. Young but enjoyable.

Re: The Year of Jazz & Wine: 1959

My birth year as well as mrs vino so, of course, legendary. I've been fortunate to have Margaux (somewhat cooked but some great wine underneath), 59 Mouton-thanks to Stu who thought it a good not great bottle and 59 Lafite, again from Stu this time a glorious wine. So fresh. We are a generous group.

Thanks Ed and thank God our BWEers are ok! The thing about covid I find truly frightening is how it impacts its victims in different ways and with varying levels of severity. Good news this morning as it looks like we have 2 vaccines with high levels of effectiveness. Stay safe everyone!

When he's not president, he's a private citizen who is deeply in debt with assets that have severely depreciated. Given his financial position, he may be tempted sell classified info to raise cash.

TN: 2016 Caronne Ste. Gemme

Decanted for about 30 minutes at a bubble gathering last night. Quite a pleasant wine with expected tannins but not overly harsh, nice Bordeaux fruit and still developing. I liked it more than most CTers and critics. I see Calvert Woodley has 375s for $10. I'd buy at that price, also 1500s for $35. ...

Yes, Biden was good enough and, of course, made far many valid points than the trumpster. Trump's base will support him but I don't think his performance will bring many undecided voters to him. Covid is spiralling seemingly out of control in many red states and hospitals are being overwhelmed. Bide...

I heard this morning that a majority of younger voters want Elizabeth Warren to be Biden's running mate. Warren is 73 or 74. We need a new generation in government at top levels.
