Re: What are we drinking in lockdown?

Last night with our first dinner out in almost 3 months we opened the 2000 Lanson "Noble" champagne. Certainly ready to go but plenty of bubbles and a rich dry flavor. I told our friends I courted (successfully, as we all know now) mrs vino wayyy back in the day with a 1976 Lanson which wa...

Mine too.
Yes and my SF agent told me that my CT inventory would be sufficient for any claim I made. That said, I'm not covered if I break a bottle. Fire, theft yes.

Keep in mind Togni trained at Lascombes. My tour of their facility remains a highlight as we were able to ask anything about his wines to Togni himself. I think his wines represent California its best but real Bordeaux patience is required.

I try and wave the Rhone flag here with little success. I continue to find a CDR a good midweek choice that pairs well with a variety of food. Thanks Arv for all the notes. I think the oldest CNDP I have is 2005; I've had a few you listed with good results.

Where did you find it Jay? Internet wines-lowest price on CT. Shipping was higher than normal but no tax and they got it shipped immediately. It had to go to DC as they don't ship to MD but I've used the Fedex to a Walgreens option before with no issues. Sadly, Fedex appears to have lost this wine....

Hmm, I discovered a couple of 09s I forgot I had but CT notes say wait. I have a six pack of the 2010 due to the usual enablement here. Looks like the sirens might be luring me on the 2016. Yeah, if you need to leave the 2016 sirens behind, you need your ears filled with beeswax and your hands tied...

mrs vino has developed a taste for Brunello. I like Il Poggione but can find producers under $40 which are quite agreeable with some cellar time. A little off topic but Asimov/NYT had a column on Italian whites under $25 this week. I've enjoyed several different whites but my underdeveloped brain ha...

Free Zoom only allows for 30 minute sessions so the host really needs to have a paid account. We did a HH last Friday and it worked pretty well except only one conversation at a time. After a few sips, that can be difficult. EDIT: I have access to a paid account so could host.
