Re: What Are Your Favourite Places to Visit in Napa

Togni was a great tour with the man himself taking questions at the end. Call ahead. I always like starting at Domaine Carneros with a glass of sparkling rose on the terrace. Conn Creek was also good. Get a driver if you're seriously tasting though! A picnic at Barnett Vineyards with its spectacular...

Re: BWE '11: Going to California?

can't we do it later when the weather is nicer? I left my home in Norfolk Virginia, California on my mind. Straddled that Greyhound, rode him past Raleigh, On across Caroline. Stopped in Charlotte and bypassed Rock Hill, And we never was a minute late. We was ninety miles out of Atlanta by sundown, ...

TN: 2007 Clos de Brusquieres CNDP-375ml

I bought several of these as a way of testing the 07 vintage. Did Parker lose it or might he be correct raving about 2007 in the Southern Rhone? I also thought the 07 cdrs were extremely good overall and so I decided to buy more (generally 6 each) of the mid tier (up to $40pb) 2007 CNDPs with a few ...

Michael, nice notes as always. I have a couple of mags of the 2001 Ridge LS but they will sit for a while longer as I think patience will be rewarded. Speaking of 04s, I recently picked up a few Leoville Barton. Anyone tried this recently?

Re: A Word on Buying 2009 Bordeaux: WAIT

Tanzer is touting bargain shopping for 07s in his new issue. Has Calon Segur ever made a better wine than its 82? I just skimmed through the article, and prices remain shockingly high. E.g. the top reds reviewed (16 wines, 92-95 points) only Pontet Canet (92) and Pape Clement (92) were under $100 (...

anyone tried the 07 Donjon? I bought a couple of mags of this as I really enjoy CNDPs in larger formats. I agree on the 07 Albion-I have several mags of this as well. Another CDR I really like is 2007 Le Clos du Caillou “Vieilles Vignes”Cotes du Rhone, North Berkeley Cuvee.

TN 1996 Clos du Marquis

harsh, unpleasant tannins buried whatever fruit was present. Very close to DNPIM and half of the contents poured out. Drunk over 2 nights. I was quite a fan of this wine previously so this was a surprise; bottle was not damaged or corked with a solid, non stained cork. past its prime??

Re: Your Bordeaux 2009 buying plan

I just bought some '88 Rausan Segla (a wine I love) for $75, with perfect provenance. Geez! i was hoping La Lagune might come in for le...
