Re: 2007 d'Yquem for $359?

Let's see: If the Bd lives to be infinity minus epsilon, then he might be lucky enough to drink '07 Yquem when it is mature.

Buy a younger Yquem, Jim.

Some great wines there, Stuart. '82 L'Evangile is to die for.

What was the fourth '82 Pomerol?

Re: TNs: Never A Dull Moment - Burgundy, Rioja and Bordeaux

Too bad the '83 B-C was not up to snuff.

I think about Corton-Charlemagne when Bonneau du Martray is mentioned, although some have said that he makes a nice Corton as well.

It is interesting that two Riojas knock out classified Bdx and Burgundy. I'll bet they were less expensive, too.

Re: The 2007 Fleur Cardinale has been uncorked....

Tonight Lucie and are drinking Chateau La Fleur 2004. Same name; different wine. This is a wine that PappaDoc recommended. It has a very firm structure, a nose that has developed nicely, and lots of fruit. Thankfully, no greeness. The tannins are strong, but I am not sure about holding the wine for ...

Re: NY Times article on affordable Bordeaux

I don't buy much entry level Burgundy. In November I bought 2002 Domaine A.-F. Gros Beaune Les Boucherottes @ $40. In May I bought Bouchard Volnay Caillerets @ $38. Re: NY Times article on affordable Bordeaux

Nice article, Alex, but is there a market for very many of these wines at the prices in the article? LANESSAN is good for the mentioned $20 price (and a BWE QPR favorite), but $50-75 for D'ARCHE?!?! (just to mention the two on the list that I know well).

Lucie and I celebrated our 42nd two days late last night. We drank 1990 Winston Churchill and 1986 Haut-Brion. BWE conventioners know how good the Winston is.
