Liz Warren. Yeah it's a bad rap, but still you don't claim Native American heritage based on "family lore." On the other hand there are NA descendants with 1/32 blood that have been certified as official tribes and now run casinos in RI worth billions. But this is why I'll never run. In fi...

PC should hook up with Latour. They're already in the vanguard of delivering wines at the ready-to-drink stage.

There are at least 3 Maillets right there in the northeast corner of Pomerol, between the Barbanne? and St. Emilion. Tour, Vieux, and one other. I'd guess Franc is there too.

Re: TN 2005 Ch. Lusseau, St. Emilion

I'm not a brett expert. I thought brett was characterized more by barnyard or baby diaper. But this did smell like a young bohemian with a eurorail pass. Also, the kung pao is apt. Sort of chicken, peanuts, chili peppers and sesame oil at high temperature. Ultimately though the bouquet was not so al...

TN 2005 Ch. Lusseau, St. Emilion

This is made by Gerard Perse's piss-boy. (OK, that's unfair and insulting, and I apologize. It's made by his cellar master at his own, bona fide, reputable estate). Other than the price, this is not a Thursday night wine. This is more of a Friday night or Saturday night wine. It could be a Thursday ...

I've just sampled from the last ~ 3 oz or so of this bottle, which I accidentally refrigerated rather than freezing, which is my custom, even for overnight storage. I'm thinking there's just one Matrot, be it labled Joseph or Pierre or just Matrot? Anyway, not having the time or the money ( and now the space) to scrounge around that area, I've liked Matrot wines, both white and red, and they hold forth the tiny Meursault/Blagny corner of my cellar.

Re: The 2009 Gruaud Larose has arrived

I've had only 2 2009s, but I'll say that the GL was the least of the 2 when it comes to the adjective "big". It is also nowhere big in relation to about every 2005 I've had, and that's more than a couple. Again, maybe such a man as a professional taster would be able to discern in what way...

MacArthur's. It's interesting because their's was one of the better prices too. Of course not Premier Cru pricing, but then again ... There'll be a few more 8800' tasting notes before it's over. Might even be a fourteener tasting note. I also plan on drinking wine at various elevations as high as 13...

My name's Art. I just like wine. I have no other interest in it (business, journalistic, ratings, being dictator of forums, like that). Admire the candor. Actually Kevin(?) It was an 03 Gruaud Larose I was referring to. I think you said you once gave it 100 points and thought it was Latour. That would be good enough for me. Also there is a wine I am somewhat curious about - Cadet Piola - in a good vintage (200...
