Man, dare I say it? This wine, so far at least, is as boring as a 1993 Batailley. I mean, it is just showing nothing so far. I can't even say it is "bad," because there doesn't seem to be anything, good or bad. Let's see if the pie de la whoopie can bring anything out. = direct and proxim...

I bought a few of the '10 Cantemerle. I've never tried Cantemerle though I have a magnum of the 01 and an odd bottle of another year I think sleeping in CO.

Just catching up. This was unmistakably 2009 in the bouquet. Although this is just 35% cab, the 09, very ripe, very deep and frankly very Californian cab aromas really dominate. This was medium bodied with a lot of tingly tannins in the midpalate. The finish was lighter. So it would be interesting t...

Latrinal. With or without sanitizing cake? It makes a difference, you know.

Only had a couple of 1990s, small fry at that, but they were for the most pretty good. The Giscours was disappointing but not in a conspicuously hot vintage way. It was just kind of light and insubstantial.

Reagan was/is a conservative icon. Seems safe to say there are quite a few non cru classe Sauternes/Barsac that never see the light of day outside the reigion, or at least not in the US? I've read that as a style of wine in general there's not a great market for this wine in the US, outside the few "collectable" names.
