I have the Don Peppino still cellared. I winenerchent I trust (there is just one) has rated the wine 20/20. I enjoyed the entry line Rosso at vbarious oportunities. It has the best PQR I know.

Based on Winesearcher that shoud be a fraction of the market price, even with that fill. Maybe selling is an option too. :D

You can never know. The reports from bad bottle parties do speak of great surprises too. It seems that the storage conditions are more important than the fill. Could be you wasting a gem.
Thus, what is your gain from having a full bottle on the shelf as opposed to a empty bottle? ;)

Ever tried Lalande Pomerol? The are some prperties run by great winemakers. The obvious choice is La Fleur de Bouard by Hubert de Bouard (Angelus). But also famous Denis Durantou runs Les Cruzzels. http://www.thewinecellarinsider.com/bordeaux-wine-producer-profiles/bordeaux/satellite-appellations/ch...

When it comes to Cabernet Franc my benchmark is always Petit Gravet Aine. (80 % Cabernet Franc, 20% merlot). Suberb, delicious, supple and yet unexplored und not understood by HWMNBN. (With exception of 2009 which probably went seriously wrong.) I found no Loire Cabernet as deep and complex as that ...

Ever tried the 1990 Citran? Could go for Mouton, that one. Old vintages of Citran could be quite great. Unfortunately Claire Villars-Lurton is no langer in charge. 2000 is the last of the great Citran's to my knowledge. It is still to young but has great potential.

Hi,

The Chateau is under new capable ownership. The 2009 should be very good from the tasting notes I am reading. WSNBN gives 90 points and so do the TN on cellartracker. Guess you can't go wrong for that price.

From a economical point of view it is better if the wines can be sold and drunk young. From a hedonistic point of view there is so much taste you loose.
Sad that so few people know about it.

I had a chance to try the 2008 several times. My favorite wine (apart from the expensive names) is clinet. It has a great structure , length and depth. Trotanoy is excellent, but I consider it a different style to Petrus. The soil is a bit different and Trotanoy also nomally has a bit more Cabernet Franc. The wine that is seen close by some wine writers to Petrus is Lafleur.(E.g. by James Thurnbull ) I do indeed see some similarity, but my Petrus e...

I think the Dufort is a very honest, straight forward wine, that does not seek to impress.

Yes, it surprises me too. Pape 06 has come down to a level where its price is quite ok for a pape clement.
I wonder if there is something behind the rumor that inventories are full in Bordeaux because of price speculation.
It does not seem to be just Mr. Magrez who is short for money.
