I seem to recall that in the early days of BWE there was a pretty extreme amount of "enablement" going around. Most of the Bordeaux wines that I own can be traced to BWE!

I purchased 3 bottles of the 2014 Meyney as part of mixed case of 2014's - thanks to BWE enablement. I've drunk one so far and thought it was excellent. So I'm not surprised with your experience.

I have to confess that I have tuned into 0 minutes of the convention - a combination of moving households the past week, and not wanting to increase my blood pressure (which my doc has me monitoring for a month). Based on what I have been reading, I don't think there is anything new and exciting on ...

I like your mindset for planning, Jim, but I doubt that Stefan is using the same "formula." My last vintage purchased (one case only) was 2020, which will be 9 years old when I reach 80.

12 x 2021 Felsina Chianti Classico I've bought at least a case of most vintages since 2007, and I see no reason to stop (except for my increasing age). Although they are a large producer, the quality is very consistent year over year. I've also bought the Riserva and the Riserva Rancia in recent vin...

Glad it worked out for you. Great choice of wine - my case gets delivered this week. And glad you've discovered Saratoga. I probably buy 80-90% of my wines from them these days. The rest comes from Empire Wines, also in NY, and also good service.

esl, you might want to "experiment" with a shipment of inexpensive wines from Saratoga. I live in Michigan, and though many shops around the country will not ship to Michigan, Saratoga does, as well as Empire Wines in NY. Fedex always has to check that I'm 21 even though I look most of my ...

I saw that article, and it was discouraging. From what I have read recently, 2022 should be the one to buy - when it is available. Have not purchased any reds from 20 or 21, but whites have been pretty good. IIRC, 2021 was a small harvest due to frost.

Jim, based on the 2002's I've opened recently, I think it would be very good now, perhaps with a decant. Of course, it could possibly be good for some years to come. I have only a few 2002's left, and plan to drink them the next couple of years (unless one of them surprises me with its youth).
