Re: ROBERT PARKER HAS SUNK TO A NEW LOW

I'm not "defending" anything on the Squires board. I do not participate on the Squires board and I don't like the kind of moderation that went on there. Just as I do not like many other things in this world. Yet, given the choice I just avoid them and select options which I do like. There ...

Stefan, I feel honoured! Wine in Israel... This reminded me of an experience around 15 years ago in a restaurant in a small village somewhere in Israel. I asked the waiter for the wine list. One could immediately see the feeling of panic in the waiter's eyes. He recovered by saying that he was going...

Re: BWE NYC wine gathering: July 11th

I agree with the earlier comments that the 1996 lagrange is a great wine. I tasted this wine (again) several weeks ago and I think it is one of the best wines Lagrange has made, similar in quality to the 1990 and the 2000. Maybe a bit less flamboyant, but it makes up for it by its perfect balance an...

I've also not succeeded in ordering a copy. The software of the webshop just won't allow me to order one.

I've sent an e-mail to the contact address and I hope that they will manage to fix the problem (hopefully before the special offer expires on 19 June).

Interesting notes! Just like you, I bought quite a lot of these wines myself as I considered their prices to be quite reasonable for the vintage. I've not tried the haut-bergey yet as I thought, just as you apparently did, that it would be still too oaky. I've tasted the puygueraud a few times and a...

Danny, Sounds indeed like a very disappointing tasting. Especially the 1982 must have been a let down. There are not many opportunities to do a horizontal tasting of an older CdP vintage with so many wines present.

Interesting that the Clos du Caillou Reserve came out on top. Was this also the group consensus?
