Hmm, on pure gut feel it seems a bit too promotional and exploitative to me. Of course I reserve the right to judge that differently down the line.

Re: Has Cellartracker Jumped the Shark?

Hey Eric good to see you here. I thought one of the best suggestions you got on the WB thread was to add some ability for the user to add a notation (private) to the various tasters they "follow." That's a great idea and one that would make the TNs much more useful for me. Much as I prefe...

Re: Has Cellartracker Jumped the Shark?

It looks like the posers may be the third or fourth round of adopters. Isn't the proper spelling actually "poseur?" I strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of the fact that you can both block/ignore specific tasters and also add tasters to your list of favorites. One man's dreck (...

I had one of these about 2 years ago that was OK but underwhelming. Excellent! And nice to see an 88 Beau performing well. Not my favorite Beau when I have had it, but any Beau with some age is always pretty nice.

Re: TN: 2007 Domaine La Garrigue Ctes du Rhne Cuve Romaine

Yes, there were a few notes where there was an encoding glitch in IE. My fix won;t change the already posted messages such as this one. But look at David Glasser's Beaucastel post. He posted an 88 Pichon Lalande note yesterday from IE with roached characters, I made my fix, and then his newly posted...

I have an idea for how to fix, but it's a bit of a PITA. Give me a day or so. No changes required from Phil, purely on my end.

1988 Château Sociando-Mallet - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc (12/23/2008) Mmm, textbook Sociando and just a delight with a grilled ribeye. Lean, mean, and slightly vegetal. It doesn't sound very good, does it? But this is textbook, loaded with minerality, hints of cranberry, stem and graphite...

TN: 2001 Château Smith Haut Lafitte (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan)

My first tasting note post to BWE using the new CellarTracker auo-link. 2001 Château Smith Haut Lafitte - France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan (1/23/2009) A promising young Bordeaux. Still loaded with fruit and oak. Whiff of vanilla. Some coffee bean. Bell pepper, tobacco leaf and zingy cherry a...

So how does the auto link work? Bill In CellarTracker write your tasting notes or grouped set of notes (currently known as a TASTING EVENT within CellarTracker). Click TASTING NOTES at the top and then MY UNPOSTED NOTES at the upper left. Click the checkbox to the left of one or more notes and then...

Re: Auto-link to CellarTracker

One change that would be nice is growing the default title from 60 characters to 85 characters. A number of wines names get truncated as a consequence of the current limit. I should have my end of the auto-posting code working tonight and then Phil will move it to post to this main forum instead of ...

Phil did the real work. If he is willing to share there are a lot of other phpBB boards (WLDG, FTLOP, Wine Berserker and more) who all want to integrate similarly.
