Red wine reduces cholesterol.
I had my first checkup since my cardiac catheterization in February. Now granted, I've been eating healthy, I've lost about 15 pounds. I've been exercising. And my doctor added Zetia to my regimen of six drugs for high cholesterol and high blood pressure. But… I've also tried to fit a little more re...

Guilliani was crazy! Offering up red meat to the base. Followed by Milania. Great legitimacy for the Trump campaign.

Milania doing a very lovely job, charming the crowd. A touching moment as she recognizes Bob Dole, still standing strong at 92.

Not much there. Earthy, mushroomy, decent nose, hollow in the middle. Rustic. Nice color. Still youthful but just not much depth. Not a lot of pleasure here. 87 points.

Re: The three greatest Bordeaux you have ever tasted
That '89 Lynch we had at my house last summer was the wine that was presented to me in DC the year before. It was spectacular, obviously unbelievably stellar provenance. the 96 Lafite was great but it needed more air. When Rob and Sue and Mike McNamara and Jay/Peggy came a few years back I decanted ...

One thing that really kills me… The headlines all say, Trump leads Clinton. And then, as an afterthought, Trump lead widens when adding in the third party candidates.
Um, hello, the third party candidates ARE in the race. In other words, it's even WORSE than it seems.

That is correct. Pibran used to be more Cabernet based but I believe with 2010 it became predominantly merlot. I always was interested in this wine because it seemed ideally situated between Mouton and Pichon Baron.

The 2010 Pichon Baron is an amazing wine.
Unfortunately, it's also going for $200 per bottle.
Yes, I think they put the good stuff in the Purple Baron.
I remember we had a discussion about this at the estate, although I don't recall all the details.

Not sure why BobbyG did not really like this wine. To me it is very nice. A solid 90 pointer. Really developed on the nose, even displayed a chocolate merlot perfume. It is a combination of California and the northern Medoc, but classy throughout. Very merlot-driven. At $29 per half bottle, or $58 f...

$29 per half bottle at MacArthur's Art. Seems to me the Montrose grand vin has had heavier merlot contents in the past, no? Didn't the 1996 grand vin, of all vintages, have a higher merlot quantity? Maybe not, I just seem to vaguely remember that. This is a nice little wine. I'm usually pretty skept...
