Re: The 2019 en primeur campaign begins haltingly

More data points: I sold my 02 Cos despite its great release pricing as it was just too modern and international for me to get excited about. But I’ve really enjoyed the 95 and 96 in the past, though both needed another Blanquito or 3 when I last had them (over 5 years ago). And I thought Ian’s bott...

I have long admired the rieslings from Alsace, especially Trimbach and Weinbach gets an honorable mention. Trimbach is my favorite. But the dry rieslings of the Wachau have really come on strong in my pecking order.

Why oh why is white Burgundy so special, so hard to replicate? Sub-question related to Bill's post: is there any dry white wine made outside of France that is special? For me, yes the rieslings of Austria and Germany, but it that it? I like some Californian and Oregon whites, but are they special? M...

White burg prices are insanity right now. I got the 16 J Carillon Puligny single vineyards in the $80’s, but the cheapest now for the 17 and 18s seems to be like $115-$120. Same seems to be true for Niellon and PYCM. WTF? These were expensive to begin with, why the run up? Tariffs?

We all learned a lesson of sorts from Premier Cru about the risks of prearrivals.
