Not sure if I can ask this, but how did you know he was innocent?

(Not questioning that he was either)
It's a long complicated story Marcus, I'll have to type up some more details after I can get up the strength to lift my arms.
These cases just wipe me out for literally days afterwards.

I enjoy being the only friend to the people most reviled in society Nic, it is the only way a fair system of justice can work. The day that those charged with even the most heinous crimes are no longer presumed innocent is the day our society crumbles. In some places in the world my client would hav...

Exactly what do the wholesaler fascists argue when we point out that all we need is an adult signature upon delivery to solve that issue?

It really is one of those wines that combines the best of the modern winemaking world while still maintaining a very characteristic northern Medoc profile.

2014 Lafon Rochet is a Nicola kind of wine, Nicola.
Gerry and I were really lucky late last year, NH had some excellent deals on quality 2014s that were on sale.

Re: Poll: How often are your wines corked?

I think this was an interesting little poll, if I say so myself. A very small sample, obviously, but it is a BWE sample, which gives it greater weight. For me, I read a lower incidence of cork defect than the norm that you might find on, say, cellartacker, or, as I recall from the "more serious...

Re: Poll: How often are your wines corked?

Indeed, David, when a wine is completely flat -- I'm not talking just "closed," I initially think about it being flawed. A small sample in this poll, I realize, but I find it interesting that a substantial percentage find the incidence of cork in only one out of every 50+ bottles... which ...

Yes but how do you prove that a wine was corked? Do you bring the 95% full bottle back to the retailer? Sometimes at BWE events there is not always a consensus whether a wine is corked. I’ve seen BWE dinners where a whole table was convinced that a wine from 3L was corked but the other three tables ...

Agreed but what can a retailer do?
If somebody buys a $2,500 Petrus and the buyer says it's corked 10 years later, I don't see too many realistic options.
Especially when sometimes there is not always consensus whether a wine is corked, "cooked," etc.

Which leads me to a poll question....

You nailed it on the Lagrange vintages, Stefan: 1990, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2003.
We had the 1982 Lagrange at a restaurant in Montreal in my early days of drinking Bordeaux (early 1990s) and it was memorable.
And, as I said above, the 2007 was a pleasant surprise.
