Re: So what have you bought lately?

I'm curious about that 1996 Lafite purchase.
I'm wondering what the market for Lafite is these days and the staying power of its prices.

7 x 2020 Felsina Berardenga Chianti 4 x 2019 La Croix de Beaucaillou 1 x 2018 La Croix de Gay I keep adding that Chianti to my cellar, Jon, it just always hits the spot. I think this may be my first La Croix de Beaucaillou since I was turn off this wine following a watery 1996. I'll uncork one and r...

A beautiful wine, true to Graves. A nod to modernness but not offensively so. The fruit is ripe and fresh but the wine is overall elegant. If I were drinking this blind I would wonder if it were a right banker, or a Graves. Opened up with air, the last sips were the best. For me, these 2014s are dri...

I'd be curious to know the merlot content here. This wine is lovely, round, it has a lovely fruity profile, I would definitely identify this as right bank if I were drinking it blind.

50 years ago we were driving cars on the moon. Now we can't even land a metal box upright.

But hey, this wine is showing nicely, it has a nice fruity quality that is more right bank than left bank.

The 2019 Meyney has more depth and richness, the 2020 Meyney has more balance, these are wines that will not appeal to all palates. I prefer the 2019 slightly more, and thus rate it 92+ points, 92 points for the 2020. Both wines stand out for their rich, distinctive, opaque purple color. Chateau Mey...
