Re: Where can I get a bottle or two of 2016 Lynch Bages....

$882 per 6 pack seems expensive for a 5th Growth, that’s more like (super) second pricing.

Good bottles of the 90 Louviere are truly excellent and were/are world class QPR. I didn’t discover the 90 Louviere until 2011 or so, and it was already fully mature then but it seems to be holding very well. Let us know how it shows, Joel.

It’s close to a bi-annual purchasing summary, I guess. The sad (or happy) fact is that “only” 4 cases over almost 6 months reflects genuine restraint on my part, at least compared to the long term trend!

Yes, Gerry! I've never had a Forman-era Sterling and I have been losing out on them for years at auction, but I finally won a few lots (and the 73 is my brother's birth year). Eager to let these get a few weeks to settle. Pretty good looking fills too, given the ages...

Interesting, MS. On some level, you’re the only one really defending Monte Bello in this thread. Given the pricing on MB these days (often more than $200 at auction), some hosannas would be reassuring to those of us holding.

Just my perception of course, but the ones I mentioned are much more old world in their stylings than the large bulk of cali chard, especially Liquid Farm and Enfield. I hear you Jacques, and when top flight Chablis was $30 or even less (from Premier Cru ), I didn’t give cali chardonnay the time of day. But with stalwarts like L. I’ve long had a big soft spot for the wines from Ridge, and as great as their old-vine field blends are, my favorite wines from Ridge have been some of their old cabs from York Creek which can be truly magically. Oh, I have some (inevitable but mostly minor) differences here and there. And I’d demote some wines I find too modern, b...
