Re: President Trump

Scott: I agree that Sanders believes in his shtick. He's a true believer, apparently unable to assimilate or accommodate any alternative point of view. That may all be real or partially phony. He's even more unfit to lead if his unwillingness to compromise is all real. Sanders' true phoniness rests ...

Yeah, I think you're right about the votes on the Iraq war...

And I don't think Bernie's been dirty in his criticism of Hillary. He's got every right to push on. But I do think he hides his plans and talks in platitudes.

Well we agree that most politicians are worthy of disdain because they are bought and paid for phonies. I'll put Hillary in that group but I don't think she's any worse than the rest of them. Do you think that every politician that George W and gang conned into believing that a war was needed to rid...

Re: President Trump

Jim you keep talking about phonies yet you seem to use the term only for the candidates you dislike. Sanders is a bigger phony than Clinton, by a mile. He outright lies or refuses to answer to cover up his past and his present, and so far mostly gets away with it. At least we know the lies Hillary t...

Re: President Trump

The big question isn't how low the campaign will go. We know the answer to that. The big question is whether Trump actually has a shot at winning. Trump's lowest common denominator appeal is his greatest asset in terms of electability and his greatest liability should he attain the office. Would he ...

I agree Scott. Jeff is enthusiastic. And he's consistent and reliable. He's not a Parker clone but his palate aligns a lot more closely to Parker than anyone else I know. If your palate preferences trend to those of the Orlando Bobbies or if you lean AFWE, your favorites and Jeff's will be largely d...

Right now it looks like Clinton is limping towards the finish line but still overwhelmingly likely to be the nominee. I didn't renew my eRP subscription last year as I was no longer paying any attention to Parker, and the bulletin board was withering on the vine. Plus I'm no longer buying young Bordeaux, and I can get a good fix on Bordeaux from reading Jeff Leve's and Alex's comments.

Great report, Alex. You made it quite clear what you liked/didn't like about each wine and where you were excited vs. concerned, and all without points! Curious what you experience as vinification odors. I've rarely tasted wines this young, so have little point of reference. I take it as a negative ...

I always attribute that dusty mouthfeel that conjures a sense of fine solids to tannins. Which fits pretty well with that wine in that vintage.
