Re: William P... Grateful Dead, Lewiston, Maine, Sept 6, 1980

Chris, I never considered myself a Deadhead. I've have friends that have gone to 50 concerts over the years. I did not. I was a child of 60s living in San Francisco and the Bay Area. I went to many concerts, saw many groups, some multiple times. (Airplane, Dead, Santana, Who, Quicksilver, Tower of P...

Jim, I'm glad you had one of those "incredible" Dead experiences. I first saw the Dead in May of 1969. I just graduated from High School. It was in a terrible hall and the sound was not very good. A bad concert that was not their fault. BTW, they never played there again. From there I foll...

To add to Jacques' list, I am fond of Walter Scott's Pinots and Chardonnays. I also like Rose and Arrow pinots but there wines are very pricey. Lingua Franca makes great chardonnays but the majority of them again are pricey. Finally Cristom make great pinots. Next month I intend to visit Evesham Woo...

St. I've not had many 2018 and those were below the normal radar Bordeaux. Still I think there is less fruit than 2015 and more structure, but not as much structure as 2016. Not sure of the scope of the question. Are you asking us to evaluate and rate all Bordeaux vintages from 1982? If so I would so, I would rate 1982 in the top two. If I had to pick, I'd say 82, 10 and I'm very impressed with 16. Though I do admit a certain favoritism with the vintage.

I like Schott Zwiesel. Presently I'm using the Pure, Cabernet stem. I also have their Pinot and Bordeaux stems but they're from other lines. I like them because I have two doodles who have been prone to sweeping their tails across the coffee table thus terminating fragile glasses.

It was also within the budget at $3.00 a bottle from my local wine shop in 1976, so it was my first case. It was d...
