Mostly sold on a mailing list so secondary market can be higher. SVD's started at $49 with the 06's and have gone up.
JAL, I have had some Chardonnay from Rhys which did not age well. The 12 and 13 are good bets as well as newer vintages.

2012 Rhys Alpine Chardonnay. A stunner. I understand there was a Zoom meeting yesterday with the owner and winemaker of Rhys. That sounds amazing. Were you there Glenn? How did that go? Yes I was online. My first zoom experience, it was cool. Kevin and Jeff used photos to highlight areas of the vin...

I first met Bill Cadman in 1997 when we met one on one at his house/winery in Coombsville, CA. He was very gracious and opened bottles on his picnic table. His PN from Haynes Vineyard was a standout. This is also from Haynes but I believe from younger vines and made by his daughter. Haynes is in a c...

Last nights 1996 Lagrange makes a good cases for 1996 being the last really good sort of 80's vintage. No overripe issue with defining structure and balanced fruit.

Re: Checking in on the 1986 Bordeaux vintage
January has been a tough month for me. I planned on opening an older Bordeaux today to kick back, watch football and damn it I did! 86 Gruaud Larose was opened several hour in advance, and the Cordier funk was apparent. One of the very top 86's and drinking really well now with density and smooth te...

While not related to Gideon, we have similar but different last names, he has an amazing operation at Clos Saron. Tiny and chancy with low intervention techniques, some great wines are made there. Tasting at his open house and then having dinner in the cave is quite an experience.

I am a big fan of 89's.
I have a single of 89 Latour and have never tried any. In fact I have very little Latour experience. Is the 89 Latour in need of another 5-10 years of ageing?

SI is a good value by not top tier. I agree about their PB. We had a 14 PG the other day and it was very nice.

I divested myself of most of my VP over the last few years. I need to watch my sugar level. I have about a case and a half left. I do enjoy it in the colder months with some Stilton. Feel well soon. My aunt is an administrator at HFSS.
Regarding 94, I am more bullish than many on the vintage. Specific to LLC a bottle tasted last year was ok but a bit unfulfilling.

The Pox Sux. I got tired long ago on feeding the drain with Burgundy and Loire. Might as well light a fuse on a bomb and hope it is not going to implode.
Now I look to Oregon for quality Chardonnay. Some good Chenin Blanc in California.

My Bordeaux run ended essentially with the 02 vintage. Style and environmental changes, price increases, the need for 2 decades of cellaring and semi retirement are all factors.
