I think the empty set and zero belong in the realm of discoveries, not inventions.
Even in the absence of other evidence, zero is implied by the existence of one and negative one, both discoveries imo.

Re: A couple of Margaux appellation beauties.
I saw a note for this from a new Cellartracker friend who actually lives less than 10 miles from me. So I decided to pop my second one. 2016 Château Siran - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (3/29/2022) PnP. Drank over two evenings. This reminded me of a bottle of 2014 Leoville Barton opened several ...

I never heard of Lenny Breau but I did get to see Andres Segovia in concert at the Hartt School of Music in the late '60s. It prompted me to learn finger picking.

If you don't want to drink one alone, ... I'll save one to drink with you, Chris, but it'll have to be at least a couple blanquitos from now! I was thinking more along the lines of one more single bottle bought before the sale ends, so you don't have to ruin one of your investment grade owcs. :mrgr...

You know what did it for me, was the six bottle cases. I really have no qualms about at the very least breaking even, especially since I’ve got them in these nice compact pristine six bottle cases. I just kind of wish I had one loose bottle out there, Ike I originally planned, for when you came and...

I also brought two other bottles but the party ended shortly after dinner. A bottle of the 2004 Belair was opened and left behind with only a glass poured. I'm sure Charley enjoyed the rest of that. And a 2012 GPL was opened in our hotel room. I finished the GPL at home Sunday evening. It's an excel...

Dad's 93rd Birthday Dinner, in Maine
7 of us gathered at my brother Charley's house in Poland to celebrate my dad's 93rd. The drive up from CT for Mary and me was quite eventful, and may have left Mary mildly traumatized. Some of you may have seen the weather forecasts for New England, with a bomb cyclone event moving up the coast duri...

I would definitely consider it old school based on that one experience, but considering the context of sharing a table with 2014 Macdonald and Maybach, it would be.
Without a doubt though, it's in the drinking zone.

I was just going thru my tasting notes on Cellartracker and noticed the 2000 Peby Faugeres that an acquaintance brought to a baller (for me at least) wine dinner in 2018. Although not getting my highest score, it was my favorite wine of the night, garnering 96 points. Something that stood out on the...

Back to Bordeaux. This week, after the Chianti, I drank: 2014 Ch. Meyney - still needs a ton of air to fully express itself. 2016 Ch. Puygueraud - my first experience with this Francs, Cotes de Bordeaux. Its a very good Merlot blend, modern leaning but with good regional typicity and not overripe. D...

Speaking of birthdays, my dad turns 93 on the 12th of March. We're getting together to celebrate at my brother Charley's house in Poland Maine. The first bottle on my wine list is 1982 Ch Talbot. Uncork something special this week, folks! How about a bottle of 1978 Chateau Langoa Barton? Karl dropped off his six at my shop this afternoon for some upcoming work and brought this bottle. So far, Meyney and Lilian Ladouys are the only wines from 2018 that I've purchased a case of. Everything else has been 3 bottles or fewer, and less than a case of classified growths in total.
