Re: Report on 2022 vintage and tasting notes from Jane Anson is out

Conor, I don't know what to make of Oliver Styles' article in Wine-Searcher about 2022 vintage. For me, it's an accusation towards Bordeaux winemakers for using some winemaking tweaks like adding tartaric to the wine to correct pH levels. It's strictly defined by rules on how much you can add to it....

Report on 2022 vintage and tasting notes from Jane Anson is out

Very interesting one with a lot of valuable information about changes at several chateaux. I can't deny that I don't always agree with her ratings which I think in several cases are too conservative. We are so many "Parker's" alike wine critics now, so maybe it is a good idea to collect al...

Ian, Excellent wine for sure! My TNs on this wine: "Tasted in March 2017. This vintage at Figeac has a great reputation among wine-freaks and it was confirmed with aplomb when tasted. Sensual, classy, fruity and aromatic nose of cherries and raspberries, and similarly sensual on the palate, lon...

Caroline should have as much recognition for the quality rise.

PghMike - exactly! Tasted in July last year. My first "meeting" with this wine as I didn't taste it en primeur because of Covid 19 restrictions. 50% Cabernet Franc, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot. This wine was certainly worth the wait! An awesome thrill from start to end. In the be...

Imho, one of the top wines in 2019 vintage. 100p for me. 2020 is almost as flamboyant as 2019 but not quite as sensual. 2022 then hit all the boxes and more!

Never Parker at FC, as Jean-Luc Thunevin has been a consultant at FC for many years.

Fleur Cardinale is the closest neighbor to Valandraud, with similar soil conditions.

It's certainly one of the most improved properties since the 2016 vintage.

I'm baffled that the big guys at Southfold tasting didn't quite find out of Carmes Haut Brion 2019. David G, The tasting took place at a well-known restaurant in the center of Copenhagen. It has some of Denmark's best wine sommeliers. If some wines were tainted, oxidized, and corked, we would have been told. By saying questionable provenance, I meant improper storage. No wine among these 26 came d...

I didn't buy one single red wine in 2003 vintage but a considerable amount of sweet wines Reds in 2003 are not worthy of anything, but I had better examples of Montrose, Cos, and Ducru Beaucaillou than you. 2004 is a kind of Jekyll and Hyde vintage imho. From the start it was marked by big, unresolved and not always ripe tannins. Both from barrel and after bottling.
