2016 Lafon Rochet

This is a solid wine. The price was $45.00 which seems very reasonable for a 2016 of substance. The nose is not floral in nature, more herbs, loam, and maybe a touch of stem and weed. Subtle and inviting. 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot Well balanced; round, sv...

I posted on Meyney about a month ago and we agree. It's a solid wine at a good price point with excellent potential for at least 10 years.

I just dropped by this thread and after a quick read, I'm sadden by tone. As the official BWE worst taster, I was always impressed by the tolerance of differing opinions. There is always friendly disagreement but rarely does it get personal. It seems on this thread, we lost it. I point no fingers, a...

Patrick, I understand your point but I have a hard time describing Pichon, Rausan, Montrose, or Gruaud as lower wines. They are second growths. However in the spirit of your post I would add 1983 Palmer.

Thought I see what this vintage holds for Cantemerle. Nose: floral, earthy, dry fruit, perfume, very delicate. Good start. Medium body. medium concentration, bright, juicy, mild round tannins, mid-level acidity. Excellent balance. Very smooth at this date. Nice finish. Some minor dryness at the fini...

2000 Gloria. This wine was glorious. Medium body, tannins resolved, it was at its peak. Medium concentration. Leather, earth and blackberries. If I had to find something to criticize the acid was on the low side, but I’m nitpicking here. 2015 Ch. Meyney. This was another winner. At $30.00 a bottle i...

SI Chardonnays are good but not the best Oregon has to offer. I prefer Walter Scott and Lingua Franca. Though be warned, Lingua Franca is not a QPR. You pay for the quality. I also like Roserock Chards. Made by Drouhin, they offer a better price point since they are not "estate" wines. Bill
