Thanks for turning me on to it, Patrick, I was thinking of buying it but your note in the name of science gave me the nudge I needed! I have 5 more and will definitely get another 6-12.

Re: The 2015 Siran has been uncorked....

So is the 2015 Siran a wine that needs to be Howed in its youth or is it something that will last or develop complexity? Boy I've been asking the same question David. The fruit is so beautiful right now. I predict it is going to shut down tight like that '15 Giscours I had a few weeks ago, but righ...

I see Jeff Leve and others like it on cellar tracker. Interestingly, it is 55% merlot.
MacArthur's seems to have sold out of it, bummer, they had like over 120 bottles a week ago.

As Blanquito said, this is a JimHow kind o wine. it was worth the FedEx wait. As is becoming evident to me from the 2015 vintage, it is BIG. Aromatic, Margaux, splendidly purple. A stunner! An immediate front runner for 2018 BWE wine of the year. Fills the mouth. Great ripe fruit. Will age a long ti...

Re: So what have you bought lately?

Well thank goodness they found my '15 Siran, Rausan Segla, Tour Christophe, SHL, etc., the latter with their fancy black label, before sitting in a truck all weekend with temps scheduled to rise. The bureaucracy of fedEx when a delivery goes wrong is astounding, I'm too exhausted to recount what I'v...

That's what I always do, including in this case, but the two cases are sitting on a truck at a facility 5 minutes from my house because of a shortage of drivers.
That's bad enough but it is the multiple lies I have caught these assholes in that are what really have me pissed off.

Man, you love that Croix Ducru, Chris.
I have never bought it since I wasted $25 on the 1996, which I felt was a supermarket-level wine.
Somewhere along the way it appealed to you, how would you compare it to the first label?

I have had some very memorable hits over the years with those bottles, but overall my hit rate is substantially lower than it is with Bordeaux. Like, a lot lower. Yeah, that's been pretty much my experience. One big problem is that I find the Burgundy aging curve totally random/incomprehensible. I ...

Great report Ian, is Burgundy overrated in general or is it just that young Burgundy is so undrinkable.
