Re: It's cold as a bastard.

Thanks boys, I’ll be careful. I’m a Mainah! I’ve driven through much worse conditions. But you are right, the number one rule is to not be stupid. Wrapping up the great lobster birthday party, we had 2012 La Fleur de Bouard, 2012 St. Innocent Justice Vineyard, 2012 Domaine de la Janasse, all very lo...

Re: It's cold as a bastard.

I cant, I have my nephew’s birthday party this evening here in Maine. Wow this is going to be a big one! I’ll figure it out, the Blue Demon (a/k/a my 278,000 mile 2008 Toyota Corolla) handles pretty well in the snow. Hopefully I won’t have any trouble getting out of New York on Thursday morning. I’l...

Saturday traffic in Capitol area

I think Marcus or somebody mentioned this elsewhere.
It is my understanding that some streets are going to be closed off in the Capitol area due to the student anti-gun march, so we might want to keep that in mind as we plan our transportation to the Saturday night restaurant.

Re: It's cold as a bastard.

I recall that opening paragraph in “A Thousand Days,” when there was like an inch of snow at Kennedy’s inauguration, and it nearly shut down the city. Looks like we are getting six inches or more in the DC area? What is the local weather report in DC for Thursday to Sunday?

Interesting observations, Alex, I wonder if the difference is just because of vintage or winemaking?
I'd be curious to hear what you think of the 2004, which I have loved and which sounds like a cross between the 2001 and 2003.

Ha great report RC. When my father was in his 70s the old textile mill worker who grew up in the Great Depression was initially skeptical about my high priced fancy French wines. It didn't take long for him to acquire a taste for great Bordeaux, though, and it was one of the great joys of my life to...

Actually, Pavie has changed vinification and style since 2014 vintage.
