Re: 1989 Bordeaux tasting - putting out feelers

Jacques,

1989 Pichon Baron sounds great - wasn't that Wine Spectator wine of the the year when it was released (although some think that honor should have gone to Lynch Bages).

Re: 1989 Bordeaux tasting - putting out feelers

My preferences are October 17, November 7, November 14 and November 21 in that order.

I have joined the Metropolitan Opera Guild so I will be able to purchase tickets in advance of the general public sales if anyone wants to do an opera outing before the tasting.

Re: 1989 Bordeaux tasting - putting out feelers

I don't think I tasted 1989 Lalagune either. That 1989 La Dominique is fully mature now so it would be a good choice.

I think I'll probably bring an Angelus in addition to the Climens.

It just goes to show that everyone has their own sense of taste. As for myself, I thought the 1982 Pichon Lalande and 1989 Lynch Bages were just about even and were head and shoulders above the other wines in the blind tasting.

The Kerpen WS Spatlese * (also known as the bird label) is very good (I bought it) just not as good as t...
