Hmmmm, I trust your palate, tartness now does not bode well for aging.
Then again, you are not really into aging wines, so why not just buy some of the remaining 2016 and 2017 instead of 2019s?

Re: Two excellent White Burgundies
Yes, prices are high everywhere.
To be honest, I don't really get any sense of place with Maconnais or St Romain. For the same price, or cheaper, I stick to regular White Bourgogne from good producers. I really liked the Jean Marc Boillot 2020 for $25.

Re: Back from Spain
Nice notes, Claudius, makes me want to visit again. Maybe we will in April '23. Some random thoughts about Spanish wine: The Raul Perez Ultreia Valtuille Bierzo was a household favorite, but the last few years it got expensive. Muga Prado Enea is a wine that will always remind me of Pappadoc, he fir...

Re: Two excellent White Burgundies
Carillon does good work, and the prices have not yet gone through the roof. I am coming around to the opinion that white Burgundy is fine to drink even quite young. Like most of us, I've had disappointments with the aged stuff, even if, when they're in good shape, they are a real treat. AR That is ...

So basically, and that was why I really asked, is there any point in buying in quantity and storing or is it more reasonable to just buy a couple of bottles when you feel like drinking a Ridge?

Re: A trio of Ridge Geyserville
Yes, Geyserville is very good in almost every year. We drank the fine 2014 two days ago. Like you, Nic, I have never had a Zin based wine that I would score 94+. I don't care. I've been rotating my red wine consumption to old (older than 200) Bordeaux, Burgundy, Northern Rhone Syrah, Nebbiolo and C...

The only ones I'm familiar with, Stefan, are Lamy and PYCM. The former is really good with the "en Remilly" and "Derriere Chez Edouard" outperforming. The latter is ridiculously priced and out of my price range. Even then, I prefer Chassagne, Puligny and Meursault to St Aubin. Th...

We went to Capital Grille in Sarasota and had two salads and two gigantic seafood platters for four people. With those we brought a 2016 Hubert Lamy St Aubin Derriere Chez Edouard and a 2020 Jacques Carillon Puligny Perrieres (freshly arrived from France). Both wines tasted side by side tasted great...

And for the record, I like Klobuchar and Buttigieg, I also like Val Demings a lot even if she just lost to Marco Rubio in the FL Senate race. I think a Klobuchar Demings ticket can really resonate with voters.

Two problems with Whitmer that may come back to hurt her. Calling women “people with periods”. Jeez! That's enough to make every centrist cringe. She may have a problem with her handling of Covid. Not claiming she was right or wrong, like I said before, public policy during Covid was anything but cl...

Boy, I’ll tell you, the Dems had better win Georgia because 2024 is going to rough. There are like zero vulnerable Republicans and like 3-4 vulnerable Democrats. Fair enough David.
Public policy in the US (and probably everywhere on the planet from Sweden to China and New Zealand) during Covid was all about trial and error in my opinion. That is for another debate altogether and I won't go into it.

I thought we were talking about the specific speech. None of that is in the CPAC speech.
Everything you mentioned is against my beliefs. I have said that many times but I haven't seen any of that in the YouTube video

About abortion, I was modeling my view on the Western European model. I am not for outlawing abortions after 16 weeks (and whether it's 14 like France or 18 like Sweden matters very little), I suggested it would be permitted on an exceptional basis afterwards due to complicated factors like poverty,...

To answer Alex, I believe that most Americans (and probably most BWE'ers) identify ideologically more with the core message of the Democratic Party.
