Re: The 2019 La Conseillante has been uncorked and other ramblings....

Hmmmm, I trust your palate, tartness now does not bode well for aging.
Then again, you are not really into aging wines, so why not just buy some of the remaining 2016 and 2017 instead of 2019s?

Yes, prices are high everywhere.
To be honest, I don't really get any sense of place with Maconnais or St Romain. For the same price, or cheaper, I stick to regular White Bourgogne from good producers. I really liked the Jean Marc Boillot 2020 for $25.

Nice notes, Claudius, makes me want to visit again. Maybe we will in April '23. Some random thoughts about Spanish wine: The Raul Perez Ultreia Valtuille Bierzo was a household favorite, but the last few years it got expensive. Muga Prado Enea is a wine that will always remind me of Pappadoc, he fir...

Re: Two excellent White Burgundies

Carillon does good work, and the prices have not yet gone through the roof. I am coming around to the opinion that white Burgundy is fine to drink even quite young. Like most of us, I've had disappointments with the aged stuff, even if, when they're in good shape, they are a real treat. AR That is ...

Yes, Geyserville is very good in almost every year. We drank the fine 2014 two days ago. Like you, Nic, I have never had a Zin based wine that I would score 94+. I don't care. The only ones I'm familiar with, Stefan, are Lamy and PYCM. The former is really good with the "en Remilly" and "Derriere Chez Edouard" outperforming. The latter is ridiculously priced and out of my price range. Even then, I prefer Chassagne, Puligny and Meursault to St Aubin. Th...

About abortion, I was modeling my view on the Western European model.
