Re: 2000 Pichon Baron vs. 2000 Pape Clement

I opened three different 2000s in the past four months with the same results... Sound asleep! The Du Tertre, Grand Puy Lacoste (from 375 no less) and Clos d' Jacobins. None opened up on the second day either. I won't open another 00 for at least five years.

Re: My Top Twenty Favorite Moments from the "Old" BWE

One of my favorites was the dinner/FEAST that Giovanni made for us at his home the weekend of the 03 Convention. I dare anyone that attended to discribe a meal that they had that topped this. I think we had 12 courses. The wines were off the charts, from Jims 89 Haut Brion, to JScotts 81 Unico, DRCs...

Re: TN: Domaine La Roquete 2004

The 2005 sells for $29.99 and is drinking very well. It was #41 on the Speculators top 100 for 2007. It's one of the best drinking 05 CDPs I've tried. A no brainer at that price.

Re: TN: 1993 Jean Tardy Nuits St. Georges Au Bas De Combe

Re: Anyone here on Facebook?

The Monkees had one of the best of that generation (my generation also) write some lycrics. "Pleasant Valley Sunday" was penned by none other than The Great Carol King. She also wrote "Locomotion" for Little Eva who was her Baby Sitter at the time. Boy did that become a mega hit,...

Union Des Grands Crus de Bordeaux

Congratulations on the new site! I thought it fitting that my first post here should be about the tasting 0f 2005 & 2006 Bordeaux held in Manhattan this evening. About 600 people slurped, sipped, and smiled as they tasted some of the best Bordeaux has to offer. There were no First Growths poured...
