Re: Rearranging site

On the other hand, I just went back to the homepage and it seems pretty obvious to even a computer nitwit like me how to enter the forum. Maybe at this late date we should hold off on any changes to our homepage until Tuesday or later in the week.

Re: Rearranging site

As for more prominent direction to the forum, we could possibly change the last sentence of our greeting to say: Please take a minute to register and join us in our message board forum! The underlined part would be a link to the forum. That way we would have three links to the forum: at the top, at ...

Re: Rearranging site

We definitely should rearrange it, I'm wondering if we should wait until Tuesday to do that at this point. Michael had asked a couple days ago whether we could make access to the forum more prominent on the welcome page. I'd like to see us tinker with the welcome page cautiously at this point becaus...

Re: Final questions, management protocol, ownership/control Q's

I'm planning on not utilizing it, Phil, I just want to know it's available to me.

What needs to be done at 4pm tomorrow? Are you going to remove the password box that allows access to BWE? Looks to me like that's the last matter of business, right?

Re: Final questions, management protocol, ownership/control Q's

Excellent!

There is a function where I can send the same email to all members of BWE with one click of the mouse.

I did get that Admin email, Phil, I didn't look at it real carefully yet but I will.

Okay, we are ready to launch!

4:00 p.m. eastern time U.S., 9:00 p.m. UK time tomorrow!

Final questions, management protocol, ownership/control Q's

Final thoughts/questions: 1. I would like to launch around 4:00 p.m. eastern U.S. time, how does that work for your schedule, Phil, that would be what, 9pm over there? I have to be in court in the morning and, although my afternoon is currently clear, the court usually calls me in on Monday afternoo...

Yes Billo is still a lurker on BWE.
He posted a message a few weeks back giving his email and asking that you contact him Phil. I'll try to find that message, it was in the thread I started announcing that MSN Groups was closing.

TN: 2000 Ferrand Lartigue

I popped and poured this wine last night, did not decant. It kept improving through the course of the evening, but I don't think it was a real complex wine. It was a fine effort from an exceptional vintage, it kind of reminded me a little of the 2000 Corbin in that, in the end, you get the sense it ...

Re: "Report this post" button

Why do we even need a "report this post" button? We don't currently have one on BWE. My philosophy on BWE has been that we delete virtually nothing. It is a major secret to the success of our site, in my opinion. To the extent you managers have the ability to delete, it should be exercised...

Re: Avatars

I just went to the Parker site to check the avatars and, hillariously, the first one I saw was a Cubs logo. I'm not a big fan of the avatars I don't really see how they enhance the site, plus I guess I'm biased because I think the dynamic on that Parker site is so gross. If we ever become like that ...

I like this better, but I'm wondering if, sooner or later, we should just go with something completely new. I think the logo clashes a bit with the rest of the homepage. Okay thanks Mike, I just deleted the quick-reply thread.

I hate to see us delay much beyond Monday, though, I'm getting emails from BWEers who can't get into the MSN site.

I like the way you've got it right now, with the text to the left and the photo gallery to the right.
Can you put more pictures in the photo gallery?

Also, I don't think we need to make the text bolder, I think I like it the way it is.
